Designer Craig Kovacs found in photography a perfect medium to express his vision. He graduated from William Paterson University with a B.A. in Arts and an M.A. in Digital Art which led him to a career in motion media and animation.

Growing up in New Jersey Craig was fascinated by the landscape of abandoned and dilapidated industrial mills and how rust and patina were transforming the buildings into painted landscapes. This attention to detail later manifested itself in his travel photography, which would focus on details of architecture instead of the average tourist snapshot.

The book “My Brazil” is a compilation of photos from multiple visits to Brazil in which Kovacs draws comparisons from the images he captures to the movements of De Stijl and the Bauhaus and the influence of painters like Rothko, Mondrian, De Kooning and Kandinsky. Craig Kovacs lives in Savannah and is a professor at SCAD.
